Family Devotions
It is our goal, hope, and prayer that every family in our body takes part in daily family devotions. To help achieve that goal we have provided a list of resources to help families.

Suggested Format:
1. Singing: 5-10 minutes
Though Hymns of Grace is a great resource, any Biblically sound and Christ centered music will do! If you cannot sing to save your life, try singing along with good recordings.
2. Scripture Reading: 5-15 Minutes
Though the ideal is reading through the entire Bible, if your children are young, especially preschool age, a children’s story Bible may be of greater benefit.
3. Scripture Memorization: 5-10 Minutes
Spend some of this time memorizing new passages, and some time reviewing previously memorized verses.
4. Catechism Questions: 5 Minutes
Catechism questions in generations past were standard practice in most churches, though it is something that has been lost in recent years. Below are a number of possible catechism books to use. The Truth & Grace Memory Book is probably the simplest, but all would be of benefit. Focus on memorizing one question per week.

traditional Baptist Catechism
Spurgeon’s Catechism
5. Prayer: 5-10 Minutes
Though the adults in the room should certainly pray, make sure to encourage and give any children who want to pray the opportunity to do so.
6. (Optional) Reading Prayers:
There is much benefit to reading the written devotional prayers of great saints of old.
